Welcome to macsteps.com

by Tom on October 18, 2008

Welcome to what will soon evolve into macsteps.com, a place for step-by-step know-how for macheads. Sorry for so bluntly flogging you with the site slogan, I simply couldn’t resist the temptation.

I hate writing introductions of any kind. For one because I’m no good at it (you probably already had that figured out) and because nobody reads them. They’re like acknowledgements in a book: you have to do them, even if nobody reads them. People seem to expect this stuff, or so I believe.

Anyway, to keep this short, let me give you an overview of what macsteps.com is going to be once it launches in early 2009.

At macsteps you will find everything you need to get the most out of your Mac:

Mac OS X and Mac Software Video Tutorials and Reviews
Downloadable Step-by-Step Guides with Detailed Screenshots and How-To Instructions
Tips & Tricks for Troubleshooting Mac OS X and Applications
Reviews of the Best Utilities that Help Keep Your Mac in Shape
Follow-Along Projects that will Spur Your Creativity
Downloadable Templates, Checklists, Diagrams, Free- and Shareware, Scripts, …

…and much, much more!

The preparations for the launch of macsteps will take some time, since I want to be able to provide lots of valuable content right out of the gate. I’m aiming for January, maybe February for the launch. There’s still a lot to take care of, but the first quarter of 2009 should be an achievable target.

In the meantime this blog will serve as a source for updates on the progress of the preparations for the launch. You’ll be treated to pre-launch content, such as video tutorials, step-by-step PDF guides and more as I get all my gear set up and tuned. And you’ll get “backstage” reports of how macsteps is being put together and you’ll get lots of tips, reviews and news from the Macsphere.

If you want to be sure not to miss anything, either sign up for updates via email or subscribe to the macsteps blog RSS feed. You’ll find both options for subscribing in the upper right corner of this page.
